KUNAFA/ARABIC SWEET

Kunafa dough/kataifi dough: 250 g
Unsalted butter: 100 g
Milk: 1 cup
Sugar: 4 table spoon
Corn flour: 4 teaspoon
Cream cheese: 6 table spoon
Pistachios: for garnishing

For sugar syrup:
Sugar: 1 cup
Water: 11/2 cup
Lemon juice : 1 teaspoon

Take out the kunafa dough from its packet.As it is available in long strips,we need  to crush it into small pieces.Into a grinder ,add the kunafa dough and just a whip.pour it into a vessel.Then melt the butter.Add the melted butter into the dough little by little and mix well with your hands.It is around 6 tablespoons of butter. It should be well combined with the butter evenly.Now we can prepare the cheese layer.For that, boil milk in a pan.when it starts boiling add sugar and mix well.mix the cornflour with some water and pour it into the milk.stir well until thickens.Now add the cream cheese and mix well.switch off the flame.Now take a greezed pan or tray.place half of the kunafa dough mixed in butter in the tray.spread it evenly.press with your hands.Now pour the cream cheese mix over it.spread it evenly.place the remaining dough over the layer.press well with your hands. Then bake it in an oven for around 30-35 minutes in 160° c.Meanwhile,we can prepare the sugar syrup.Melt sugar and water in a pan. Add lemon juice to avoid crystallisation.when it becomes the correct consistency of syrup switch off the flame.After baking take out the kunafa from the oven.It has a nice golden colour and crispy too.pour half of the sugar syrup over the kunafa.close for 5 minutes.Then flip other side to a plate.Pour the remaining sugar syrup over it.wait for 5 minutes.flip other side again.Then Garnish with pistachios.It is a very tasty and variety Arabic sweet.I loved it too much.If you don't prefer the cream cheese,you can use chocolate cream,srawberry cream or other flavoured cream instead of that.All of you must try and enjoy...!!😍😘
